Spring.  How we've all been dreaming of it.  And, even though I'm in Utah, I think I've had a milder winter than the rest of the country.  But, I still look forward to spring with anticipation.  Anyway, enough talk about the weather.  You're here for the card.  Nothing says Spring more to me than tulips.

PTI October Blog Hop

Greetings all you hoppers!  Don't you think Nicole is inspired to have us all start working on our holiday tags now?  I always have great plans, but haven't quite figured out that time turner thing from Harry Potter, so usually run out of time and the cute plans for tags end up as sticker tags from the dollar store.  Here's the eye candy Nicole gave us to get our creative juices flowing.

I found these cute and really yummy smelling soaps at JoAnns.  They're $1 each, and the sign said to get some to make cute neighbor gifts.  Who am I to say no to a suggestion from JoAnns?  I knew I wanted to make some snowman tags that my neighbors could then use as an ornament.  I only attached the twine to one of them right now, but you get the picture.  Plus, now I have 2 months to procrastinate getting the twine on :)  I used the Shape It Up Series Snowman and stamp to make these super easy, fast, and cute snowmen.  The crackled mini stamp and the Lawn Fawn chevron background stamp made the cute hats a little more fun.  I want a chevron hat for myself :)

Once there was a snowman...who had a lot of friends.  I did all their arms the same, but the way they lined up for this picture makes the one with the purple hat seem like he's plotting.
Thanks for stopping by!

Make It Monday #130

Erin had an amazing MIM video about using Heat 'n Bond with die cuts.  So amazing in fact that I actually did it.  You can see the video here.  Yeah, just totally figured out how to add the link.  I'm so behind the blogging times.  Anyway, this seemed like a good time to go and buy some more fabric, so I set off to JoAnns, with coupon in hand - well, in phone - and added to my stash.  Turns out I didn't actually use any of the newly acquired fabric in this project, but I have lots of fun ideas on using the Shape Up Pumpkin dies on some super cute onesizes.  Luckily, I had tons of fun leaf fabric in my giant stash.  The felt basket I got at Target a few years ago on clearance for 25 cents, and it's just been waiting for some cuteness to happen to it.  The dies are Leaf Prints, which I use all the time in the fall.

I can also say that this has been thoroughly tested by my helper and future crafter.

PTI Bloghop

Blog-hop-logo

Happy August to you.  Man, these months sure are flying by.  I have a few cards for this month's blog hop.  I really need to stop procrastinating this.  Luckily, I pinned all the fun sketches and color combos, so I can come back and play later.   Although we all know that I'll just get sucked into the black hole that is pinterest and waste my crafting time admiring the yummy cards and food that are there.  But, I digress.  Here's the fun inspiration that Nicole gave us.

So I used BB Super Stripes for the stripes and FF #1 for the sentiment.  I switched it up a little, after stamping the sentiment in the "correct" spot on the back  - which was my first, not as even attempt.  Not my favorite card ever, but since it was 1 am, not to bad.  And, all PTI inks - a first for me :)

Yeah for some "fast" cards.   I'd already chosen out the washi tape, so this went together super quick.  An assortment of Target, Walmart, MME, and Pebbles washi tape.  Not quite the right colors, but you get the point.  Guess I'll need to hoard  buy a few more colors.  "Hello, my name is Kara and I have a washi tape problem."  The ink is smoky shadows (because the soft stone didn't show up) and the sentiment is from FF #5 - my most used of the FF collection.
My attempt at some clever photography.  Yeah, I wonder why my email's not full of design team invites.  Well, here's a picture of my amazing photo shoot.

Realized there's some nice light in there late at night.  Thanks for looking and keep on hoppin'.

Stamp-a-faire pre-game

Edited - Well, I didn't get to play along at all, but still had a fun weekend checking out all the fun videos and posts - not to mention everyone elses amazing inspiration!!  PTI addicts are one inspiring group :)  Now, what to use my gift card for....

Looking forward to a fun day of stamping tomorrow.  I'm not sure how much I'll be able to do, but my daughter and hubby are away at a Father-Daughter camp-out tonight, so hopefully I'll be able to get a little fun done.

I didn't order a SAF apron, but I do have a lovely Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz apron from the mid 90's.  And, I guess since Karl's nickname was, "The Mailman" that will be good for a stamping party :)  My amazing yard sale-ing grandma found this for me years ago.  I actually really love it as an apron because it's vinyl and water proof.

I noticed that others are sharing the fun foods they'll be trying.  Since my DH is gone, it will PB and J  for the boys (7 and 3) around here.  Can't let cooking get in the way of stamping :)

July PTI Blog hop

 Blog-hop-logo
Yes, it's time again for another PTI blog hop.  Nicole gave us some fun, summery color combinations to work with.  There were two I was immediately drawn to, but decided to play around with all 6.  WARNING - I may have a bit of an obsession with the Chevron cover plate.  If you don't share this obsession, or are concerned that it's contagious, please close this window NOW!!!!!!

I cut a cover plate from each of the colors in the challenge.  I ended up with quite a few cards, which is great.  Now I'm a week early for my card club (as opposed to finishing LATE the night before we meet.)  Thanks to my little teether, there's no sentiments yet.  But hey, CAS is very trendy, right?

Fruits-of-Summer-1

Yes, I did loose two green triangles on my way out to take pictures.  I'm sure my little one will find them when she starts crawling and eating everything on the floor.

These cards are much more pleasing in real life.  They make me want citrus fruit.  Oh well, I guess that's what you get from a cheap camera.  Bad pictures, not citrus fruit.  Unless you're taking the "if life gives you lemons" route.  Dang, now I need lemonade too :)

Fruits-of-Summer-4
I think these are my favorite ones.  Just loved how they turned out - in real life.  You'll just have to take my word that it's limeade ice, not yellow.  So cheery and fun.

Fruits-of-Summer-6
Ok, one last one for me.  I had a harder time with this color combo, so I just put the chevrons on a grey cover plate, and it worked much better.  Still not my favorite, but at least I tried going outside my comfort zone.

Here's all of them together.  Yes, that's my lovely deck underneath.  My little helper was with me for this picture, so only had one take.

Thanks for looking.  I'll post some follow-ups once I get the sentiments on, as in the afternoon of card club.  And here's my little helper, sleeping peacefully while I try and figure out how to post and crop all these pictures.

Why I have to resort to the middle of the night for crafting.

Here's just a few of the things that are taking my time during the day.

Alex has a fascination with "nails"  He drops the "s" sound from  words, so hence the "nails".  It is sometimes confusing, but in this instance, it's good advice with or without the s -"Watch out for the nails!  Don't step on the nails!!"  The reason I have a picture of it is because that was the only way to get him inside that morning.  Well, I probably could have brought the "nail" inside, but shuddering.

Well, this is just cute.

Next is Alex doing his best ET impression.  We had a big box of stuffed animals out, so of course why play with the animal when you can play with the box.
